Develop and modernize the strategic Port Sudan-Atbara-Khartoum railway corridor

Mr. Hussein Malik, General Manager of Malik Solutions, stated that the visiting Canadian delegation expressed its deep appreciation for the constructive meetings held with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Sudan Railways Corporation, which addressed ways to develop and modernize the strategic Port Sudan-Atbara-Khartoum railway corridor.

Mr. Malik explained that the delegation was encouraged by the Ministry's vision to strengthen the national transport infrastructure and improve connectivity in the freight and logistics sectors, thereby contributing to the support of the national economy. He also emphasized the Canadian team's interest in supporting areas of technical cooperation, modernizing operational processes, and implementing long-term rehabilitation programs in Sudan's railway sector.

He added:

“Sudan’s railway network is one of the country’s most important strategic national assets. We are honored to work alongside the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Sudan Railways Corporation, and all relevant national institutions to support the reconstruction and modernization of this vital infrastructure. We look forward to continuing our cooperation to enhance connectivity in the transport sector, support economic recovery, and contribute to rebuilding Sudan’s railways to serve future generations.”

Malik also noted that the delegation appreciates the level of openness and professionalism demonstrated by the Ministry and its affiliated entities, and emphasized its anticipation of continued cooperation and coordination to support efforts to rebuild and modernize Sudan’s transport infrastructure and railway network in the coming years.
